Meliss Price, who listed an address in Sherwood when booked into the Baxter County jail, pled guilty to drug-related charges and was given four years probation during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.

Price’s arrest came after a man she was with, Chad Woolard, was stopped by an Arkansas State Police Trooper on the Sheid-Hopper Bypass in early September.

The trooper discovered Woolard had a restricted driver’s license and was required to have a device on his car not allowing it to start if he had been drinking.

He did not have such an “interlock” device on the van he was driving and told the trooper the vehicle equipped with the device had mechanical problems and could not be used.

Woolard was found to have a substance on his person he admitted to the trooper was methamphetamine.

After the drug was found, Woolard’s room at a local motel was searched. Officers encountered the 56-year-old Price in the room and found drugs and drug paraphernalia. She was arrested and charged along with Woolard. He is to make a reappearance in Circuit Court January 18th in his case.
