Two Izard County residents have been arrested on felony drug charges after a roadblock was required to stop their vehicle.

Izard County Sheriff Jack Yancey says two officers attempted to stop the vehicle the two were traveling in for a malfunctioning taillight and for passing on a double yellow line. When the driver refused to stop, a third officer placed a roadblock on Camp Ground Road in Wideman.

The roadblock was successful, with officers taking the driver of the vehicle, 25-year-old Brian Keith Cantrell, Jr., and his passenger, 22-year-old Charlie Denise Templin, both of Violet Hill, into custody.

Cantrell and Templin were both charged with possession with the purpose to deliver, methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia with the purpose to ingest, methamphetamine. Cantrell was also charged with reckless driving, fleeing, failure to stop, no taillight, DWI drugs, and fictitious license.

Bond for the two Violet Hill residents was set at $30,000 each. They are scheduled to appear in Izark County Circuit Court in November.
