West Plains teams dominate Bomber Invitational

The annual Bomber Invitational cross country meet was held Tuesday at Mountain Home High School. West Plains dominated the meet winning three of the four races.In the senior boy’s race, the Zizzers had a perfect score as the top five runners to cross the finish line were all from West Plains. Their 15 points easily beat second place Huntsville who had 100. Ben Stasney was the individual winner.

Mountain Home finished fourth as a team. Whit Lawrence paced the Bombers by finishing 15th, Lance Lee was 16th, Brandon Weaver finished 28th, Louis Englestoft was 30th and Read Parker finished 37th.

Salem finished sixth and Melbourne was seventh. Two Salem runners finished in the top ten as Darius Brown was sixth and Anthony Puerta was seventh.

In the senior girl’s race, West Plains won the team event with Mountain Home second and Melbourne was third. Kaylee Hatley of West Plains was the individual winner.

The Lady Bombers were led by Marcie Cudworth who finished sixth, Emma Martin was eighth, Victoria Strange was 13th, Emily Payne finished 15th and Alexa Darracq was 17th.

Melbourne’s Kiley Webb finished third.

Mountain Home won the junior boy’s race, finishing ten points ahead of second place Green Forest. The individual winner was Riley Simpson of West Plains.

The Junior Bombers were led by Ky Bickford who finished third, Hendrix Hughes was seventh, Andrew Westphal finished eighth, Xander Towne was ninth and Daren Blount was 12th.

The junior girl’s race went to West Plains. Melbourne was third, Salem fourth and Mountain Home sixth. The individual winner was Brayden Kantoia of West Plains.

The Junior Lady Bombers were paced by Kamryn Mullin who was 19th, Parker Huskey fnished 22nd, Britney Jenkins was 38th, Rylee Patterson was 41st and Cayla McMaster finished 45th.

Melbourne’s Kenley McCarn finished third.
