A 30-foot trailer at 143 Royal Oaks Lane east of the Henderson fire station was a total loss in an early morning Friday fire.

Henderson Fire Chief Robert Westbrook says his department was alerted to the fire shortly after 2:00, after the sole occupant of the residence awoke to a popping sound and a trailer full of smoke.

Chief Westbrook declined to identify the man residing in the trailer, but says he was uninjured in the fire.

Westbrook says it is believed the fire was electrical in origin, which supports the statement made by the homeowner of the sounds alerting him to the blaze.

Seven Henderson firemen received assistance from five Northeast Lakeside firemen. Chief Westbrook says while Handcove and Gamaliel firemen were also paged, they were directed to stand down when the fire was brought under control.
