LOS ANGELES (AP) _ The Los Angeles Dodgers have the upper hand in the National
League Championship Series after taking the opener.

The Dodgers used a mix of timely hitting and strong pitching in a 5-2 win over
the Cubs in Los Angeles.

The big hits came from Yasiel Puig (YAH’-see-ul pweeg) and Chris Taylor. The
Cubs led 2-0 until Puig lined an RBI double in the bottom of the fifth. Puig
also hit a solo homer in the seventh, one inning after Taylor’s solo blast off
Hector Rondon put the Dodgers ahead.

The series stays in Los Angeles for Game 2 on Sunday. Rich Hill will start for
Los Angeles against Jon Lester.
