Governor Asa Hutchinson has appointed Bull Shoals resident Nicholas Nugent to fill a vacancy on the Marion County Quorum Court, District 2.

The notification came in a letter dated October 25th and included in the packet of supporting documentation for the November 14th quorum court meeting.

Nugent’s term will expire on December 31, 2018.

The vacancy on the quorum court was created in June when former justice of the peace David Nixon was selected as the mayor of Bull Shoals following the resignation of David Hotchkiss.

Nugent is not eligible to seek re-election to the quorum court in 2018.
