The Donald W. Reynolds Library recently celebrated a milestone. Seven additional children were able to complete the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten Program.

The program engages parents and caregivers in a commitment to read 1,000 books to their children before they enter Kindergarten. It was started by the library in 2013 with built-in incentives, and it allows the parent and child to read at their own pace. Seventy-five children have completed the program, and 350 are currently enrolled.

All children’s programs are provided at no charge as a service of the Donald W. Reynolds Library through donations and sponsorships. For more information on 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, visit the children’s desk at the library or go online to baxlib.org.
