Cotter boys, Norfork girls win Arvest Bank Tournament

The Arvest Bank Tournament came to an end Saturday at Flippin with the championship trophies going to Baxter County.
Cotter was able to capture the boys’ championship. The Warriors defeated Deer by a final of 46-38.
The girls’ title was won by Norfork. The Lady Panthers posted a 64-55 decision over Jasper.
Yellville-Summit took the boys’ third place game on a buzzer beater. Cameron Curtis banked in a three to give the Panthers a 52-51 victory over Marshall.
Third place on the girls’ bracket was captured by Melbourne as they topped Mammoth Spring 64-54. Lauren Mitchell led the Lady Bears with 17 points and 12 rebounds, and Whitlee Layne added 16 points. Mammoth Spring falls to 10-2 on the season, and they’ll travel to Viola on Monday for district play.
Yellville-Summit’s girls fell short of a consolation championship as they lost to St. Joe 55-44. The Lady Panthers were led by Taylor McFarland with 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Mountain Home’s freshmen girls finished third the Cure CMD Tournament at Bentonville West High School in Centerton. The Junior Lady Bombers were able to beat Fort Smith Kimmons 44-37. Kate Gilbert and Kaylee Crownover were Mountain Home’s leading scorers with ten points each. The Junior Lady Bombers improve to 5-1 on the year, and they’ll travel to Batesville November 27th.
