A Gamaliel man, 32-year-old Ryan Heath Hodges, was arrested early Sunday morning by a Baxter County Sheriff’s Deputy on felony drug charges after the vehicle he was driving was pulled over near the Midway Citgo Gas Station. He is currently being held in the Baxter County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
According to the arrest affidavit in the case, Hodges was southbound on Highway 5 North in a blue Jeep. A check of the vehicle’s license plate came back to a different vehicle. During the traffic stop Hodges stated he had left his driver’s license at home and he wasn’t able to provide a copy of insurance for the vehicle he was driving. A background check on Hodges revealed he has a suspended driver’s license.
While taking an inventory of the vehicle, before it was towed, four syringes and several baggies containing suspected methamphetamine, with a total weight of 1.3 grams, were found.
Hodges faces felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, along with two misdemeanor charges.
