Authorities say Missouri woman apparently died of drug overdose

(AP) - Greene County authorities say a 20-year-old woman whose
body was found on a rural road last week appears to have died from a drug overdose.The woman, Devin Briley, was discovered last Wednesday west of Springfield. In a statement, Monday, county officials said all evidence and information found so far is consistent with a drug overdose but toxicology reports are pending.A 55-year-old man, Russell Hercher, of Springfield, was charged on Friday with abandoning a corpse.

The Springfield News-Leader reports court records indicate Briley was at Hercher's auto shop Monday night using drugs with another man. Hercher found the woman's body Tuesday morning. He reportedly drove to a rural road and left the body there. He fled to Arkansas and was arrested Thursday on unrelated charges.
