The Missouri State Highway Patrol and Ozark County Sheriff’s Department responded Friday night to a one-vehicle accident five miles north of Gainesville. Twenty-six-year-old Heather Latham of Ellington, Missouri, was flown from the scene to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield with what were described as serious injuries.
Latham was traveling northbound on Missouri Highway 5 when her SUV traveled off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle struck a bluff, overturned, traveled off the right side of the road and struck a second bluff before coming to rest on its wheels. A condition report on Latham was not available from the hospital.
Latham’s SUV was totaled in the 10:45 p.m. accident.
