Tuesday basketball results include battle of Baxter County teams

In high school basketball Tuesday night, Cotter and Norfork split their games in a battle of Baxter County teams.
Cotter won the senior boy’s contest 63-62. The Warriors improve to 16-8 on the season while the Panthers fall to 6-14.
In the girl’s game, Norfork cruised to a 73-28 win. The Lady Panthers are now 24-1 while the Lady Warriors fall to 12-11.

Flippin split their varisty games against Salem. The Bobcats continued their hot streak with a 55-45 victory to improve to 11-13 on the season.
Salem topped Flippin in the girl’s game 58-25.

Yellville-Summit split their games against Bergman. The Panthers were 80-54 winners to improve to 11-7 on the season.
Bergman topped Yellville-Summit in the girl’s game 52-38. The Lady Panthers fall to 5-10 on the season.

Izard County won all three games at home against Viola. The Cougars took the senior boy’s game 56-24. Caleb Faulkner scored 18 points and Justus Cooper added 11 rebounds. Izard County is now 21-2 and 10-0 in the 2A/1A-3 District.
Izard County topped Viola 60-47 in the varsity girl’s game. Harley Thomason finished with 16 points, Maura Thomason scored 14 and Laney Rider and Abby Brashear each had 11. The Lady Cougars improve to 9-13 overall and 3-7 in district play.
In the junior boy’s contest, Izard County topped Viola 38-28 to clinch the 2A/1A-3 District championship and improve to 17-0 on the season. Coby Everett scored 16 points and Chase Orf added 14 for the Junior Cougars.

The Gainesville boys rolled to a 75-35 win over Sparta. The Bulldogs are now 8-6 on the season.

Mammoth Spring split their games against Calico Rock. The Lady Bears were 79-53 winners to improve to 20-5 overall and 8-1 the 2A/1A-3. Brianna Hocum finished with 25 points and Whitlee Layne had 23 to lead five players in double figures.
Calico Rock won the boy’s contest 64-57. Sagen Godwin erupted for 37 points including 30 in the first half.

In junior high hoops, the Mountain Home junior girls picked up a 45-16 win at West Plains. Kate Gilbert led a balanced attack with 12 points and Kaylee Crownover scored 10 as the Junior Lady Bombers improve to 11-3.
Mountain Home won the 9th grade boy’s game over West Plains 50-35 to up their record to 15-1. Mat Jones led the way with 21 points, Wyatt Gilbert scored 12 and Brandon Morris had 10 points.

Mountain Home lost all four junior high games at Branson. Branson won the 8th grade boy’s game 48-24. Luke Proctor scored 10 for Mountain Home.
Branson took the 8th grade girl’s contest 26-12.
In the 7th grade boy’s game, Branson topped Mountain Home 33-25.
Branson also won the 7th grade girl’s game 28-20.

The Mountain Home Christian Academy teams split their games in Nixa against RUSH. RUSH won the varsity boy’s game 82-68. Matt Woods had 22 points and Cooper Long added 21.
The Eagles won the J.V. boy’s game 34-25.
