
Most school athletic events were cancelled Thursday but a few teams managed to get their games in.
In high school basketball, the Norfork girls picked up an impressive 53-42 win at home over Bay. The Lady Panthers improve to 25-1 while Bay falls to 19-4.
On the junior high level, the Mountain Home junior girls defeated Yellville-Summit 35-23. Haven Klinger led the scoring with 12 points and Reagan Hasselwander added 10. The Junior Lady Bombers improve to 12-3 on the season.
In the 8th grade boy’s game, Mountain Home defeated Yellville-Summit 40-19. Dodge Harris pumped in 20 points as the 8th Grade Bombers improve to 4-9.
Mountain Home won the 7th grade boy’s game 36-11. Masen Walker paced Mountain Home with 12 points.
The Mountain Home 7th grade girls defeated Yellville-Summit 22-20. Kamryn Mullin led the attack with 16 points.
The Izard County junior boys remained unbeaten with a 47-32 win over Sloan-Hendrix in the semifinals of the Hillcrest Screamin’ Eagles Junior Tournament.
Coby Everett scored 15 points and Chase Orf added 13 as the Junior Cougars improve to 18-0 on the season.
