About half of area schools open, snow routes only

For the first time this week about half of the schools, including Mountain Home Public Schools, across KTLO, Classic Hits 101.7 and The Boot’s listening area are open, running snow routes only. Also open Thursday are Cotter, Izard County, Flippin, Norfork, Viola and Yellville-Summit Public Schools, again all running snow routes.Schools closed Thursday in the Twin Lakes Area are Highland, Lead Hill, School of New Hope in Yellville, Omaha and Salem Public Schools.

Other schools closed Thursday include a large portion of southern Missouri. Those that are closed include Ava Head Start, Ava, Bakersfield, Bradleyville, Cabool, Dora, Forsyth, Gainesville Head Start and Gainesville Public School, Hollister, Kirbyville, Lutie, Mammoth Spring, Mansfield, Mark Twain, Mountain Grove, Norwood, Plainview, Taneyville, Thornfield, Trinity Christian Academy, West Plains and Willow Springs Public School.
