(AP) – A private, Christian college in southwest Missouri says it
will give employees a bonus because of savings it will see from recent federal tax code revisions.College of the Ozarks near Branson said in a news release Thursday that each full-time, permanent employee will receive a $204 bonus by the end of January.

President Jerry Davis said the payments are possible because the college won’t have to pay for increases it was expecting from mandates in the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare.

He said a tax code change that eliminates a health insurance mandate provision will reduce the college’s premiums for the next year by about 2.7 percent.

Davis says the bonus checks are a way for the college to show its employees how much they are appreciated.
