Almost as quick as they shutdown, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Little Rock District Tuesday reopened Corps-operated campgrounds, day-use areas, visitor centers and offices normally open this time of year. The agency had temporarily closed all of its facilities and offices Monday due to the federal government shutdown.

Visitors whose reservations were cancelled during the shutdown will receive a full refund. To request a refund, call customer service at 1-888-448-1474.

Little Rock District Commander Colonel Robert Dixon says ranger staff hit the ground running Tuesday morning opening facilities. Only a few Little Rock District parks remain open throughout the winter months. Visitors can log online to www.recreation.gov or call 1-877-444-6777 to verify if a facility is normally open or closed.
