MH starts 2nd half of district play at Batesville

Friday’s high school basketball schedule includes Mountain Home starting the second half of district play. The Bombers and Lady Bombers will wrap up their two-game road trip as they go up against Batesville.
Mountain Home’s girls are 10-10 on the season and 3-3 in the 6A/5A-2 after beating Searcy on Tuesday. Batesville is 15-4 and 6-0 as they come off a victory over Beebe. The Lady Bombers suffered a 40-37 loss to the Lady Pioneers when they began district play January 2nd.
The Mountain Home boys are 9-11 overall and 4-2 in the league following their loss at Searcy three nights ago. Batesville lost to Beebe that same evening to drop to 2-17 and 0-6. The Bombers defeated the Pioneers 56-45 near the beginning of the month.
The junior varsity boys’ game tips off at 5 p.m. The varsity contests begin around 6:00 and can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.
Elsewhere in the 6A/5A-2, Beebe travels to Greenbrier, and Vilonia hosts Morrilton.

A few local boys’ teams will continue action in the Sparta Tournament. Bakersfield will meet Lighthouse Christian in the consolation semifinals at 5:30, and Gainesville faces Forsyth in the semifinals at 8:30.

In other high school basketball, Cotter makes the trip to Viola, Flippin heads to Imboden to take on Sloan-Hendrix, Yellville-Summit entertains Green Forest, Bruno-Pyatt travels to Deer, Lutie is home against Koshkonong for Homecoming, Dora’s girls makes the trip to Chadwick, Melbourne hosts Pocahontas, St. Joe entertains Oark, Lead Hill is home against Decatur, Bergman hosts Huntsville, Valley Springs heads to Berryville, Omaha travels to St. Paul, and Western Grove makes the trip to Mount Judea.
