Warrant issued for 4th suspect in Johnson County man’s death

(AP) – Arkansas authorities have issued an arrest warrant for
a fourth suspect in the death of a Johnson County man.A first-degree murder warrant has been issued for Zachary Aaron Geels in the death of Vernice “Duwane” Ledbetter.

Ledbetter’s body was found on a logging road off State Highway 123 on Tuesday.

Johnson County authorities had previously issued a missing persons alert for Ledbetter, who was last seen on Dec. 31.

Three other suspects are already in custody in connection with Ledbetter’s death. Sheriff Larry Jones identified them as 21-year-old Brian White, 29-year-old Phillip Raible and 20-year-old Isaac Vaughn.

Jones says each is being held on a $750,000 bond and they are scheduled to appear in court on March 1. Jail records don’t indicate if they are represented by an attorney.
