Cotter splits high school games with Yellville-Summit

Cotter split a pair of high school basketball games Tuesday with Yellville-Summit.
The Lady Warriors took the girls’ game over the Lady Panthers 52-28. Alexa Wooten was Cotter’s leading scorer with 16 points, and Macie Clawson added 14. The Lady Warriors’ record improves to 17-12.
Cotter did not fare as well in the boys’ contest. The Warriors fell to Yellville-Summit 56-37.

Flippin split its senior high games at home with Mammoth Spring.
The Bobcats squeaked by the Bears in the boys’ game 36-34. Sagen Godwin led Mammoth Spring with 19 points. The Bears fall to 14-14 on the season and 7-6 in the 2A/1A-3.
It was a different result in the girls’ contest as Flippin lost to Mammoth Spring 81-40. The Lady Bears were led by Whitlee Layne with 27 points, Brianna Hocum scored 19, Stephine Henry had 14, and Lauren Mitchell chipped in 11 points. Mammoth Spring is now 24-6 overall and 11-2 in district play.

Gainesville’s boys were able to pick up a win at home. The Bulldogs edged out Seymour 33-32.
