A local daily lottery player, Kathy Asher of Bull Shoals, has won $90,000 playing Natural State Jackpot. The winnings came on a ticket Asher purchased from Exxon of Bull Shoals/Om Sales, located at 702 Central Boulevard.

Asher says, “Let me get my glasses” was her first thought after she looked at the ticket and first realized she might have won.

She says she plans to pay medical bills with her $90K prize. The first person she told about her good fortune was the clerk where she bought the ticket. The lottery retailer will receive a 1 percent commission on the sale.

Natural State Jackpot is a terminal-generated draw game similar to national draw games, but is played only in the state of Arkansas. Drawings are held Monday through Saturday evenings at 8:00; each play is $1. Five numbers from one and 39 are drawn; if a player’s numbers match those that are chosen, the player wins the jackpot.

More than 92 cents of every dollar of lottery revenue goes to prizes, scholarships, retailer commissions and other expenses in Arkansas. Since lottery sales started in 2009, the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery has provided more than $733 million for in-state college scholarships to Arkansas students, more than $2.4 billion in prizes to players and $206 million in commissions to lottery retailers.
