Norfork girls win match up of state ranked teams, Yellville-Summit sweeps Marshall

In high school basketball Thursday night, Norfork and Mammoth Spring split their district games at Norfork.
In the girl’s contest it was a battle of state ranked teams but it wasn’t close. Norfork mercy ruled the Lady Bears 88-56. The Lady Panthers improve to 33-1 on the season and 12-0 in the 2A/1A-3 District.
For the Lady Bears, who fall to 24-7 and 11-3, Whitlee Layne and Brianna Hocum each scored 14 points.
In the senior boy’s game, Mammoth Spring was a 54-38 winner over Norfork. Sagen Godwin led four players in double figures for the Bears with 15 points. Mammoth Spring is now 15-14 overall and 8-6 in league play. The Panthers fall to 7-20 and 1-11.

Yellville-Summit picked up a pair of wins against Marshall. The Panthers were 77-48 winners as they improve to 15-9 overall and 5-5 in the 4A/3A-2 District. Marshall falls to 12-10 and 6-4.
In the girl’s contest, Yellville-Summit defeated Marshall 50-47. The Lady Panthers are now 7-14 and 2-8. The Lady Bobcats fall to 10-12 and 4-6.
