Barry Fowler of Mountain Home, who is serving a prison sentence on drug-related charges, was back in Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday where he picked up more prison time.

The 52-year-old Fowler entered a guilty plea to the charges in three cases and was given a 15-year prison sentence with 10 years to serve and five suspended.

In one case, law officers served a search warrant at a home along Maple Street in early November 2016. According to the probable cause affidavit, a pouch containing 60 grams of methamphetamine, along with Oxycodone and Carisoprodol pills, as well as drug paraphernalia, including digital scales, a glass smoking pipe used for the ingestion of methamphetamine and used syringes, were found.

The officers returned to the Maple Street address about a month later. They found Fowler in the garage and reported he smashed a methamphetamine pipe on the floor when officers located him.

A search of the residence turned up marijuana, methamphetamine and more drug paraphernalia, including small plastic bags used in the distribution of narcotics.

In late January last year, officers searched for Fowler again to serve an arrest warrant. When they arrived at the Maple Street address, the officers were told Fowler had been staying in a home along Alice Street for about a week.

When officers went to the Alice Street address, they were told Fowler was there and had locked himself inside a storage building on the property. They were provided with a key to the structure and located Fowler in the building, along with a small safe containing 11.5 ounces of marijuana. Fowler was reported to have had the key to the safe in his pocket.

They also found Carisoprodol pills and a plastic bag containing a crystalline substance.

Fowler is an inmate in the North Central Unit of the state prison system at Calico Rock.
