The Food Bank of North Central Arkansas will be seeking donations for a special Valentine’s Day event. A group of local donors has taken notice of the recent success of Arkansas Gives and has made it possible for the Food Bank to receive matching funds for donations made available online Wednesday between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
As part of the online day of giving, the Food Bank will receive 50 cents for each dollar of the first $24,000 donated to the organization. All donations will be processed through the secure “Network for Good” online giving tool. Network for Good is accredited by the Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance and meets all 20 of its standards for charity accountability.
Anyone wanting to participate in the Valentine’s Day event and make a donation can go online to foodbanknca.org and click the “Donate Now” button. A recent financial audit show the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas provides seven meals with each donated dollar and uses 96 cents of each donated dollar on their programs of food distribution and education.
