Mountain Home to host Searcy for Senior Night

High school basketball makes up much of the local Thursday schedule as the regular season comes to an end for Mountain Home. It’s Senior Night for the Bombers and Lady Bombers as they welcome Searcy to the Hangar.
Mountain Home’s girls are currently 12-13 on the season and 5-6 in the 6A/5A-2 after beating Greenbrier on Tuesday. Searcy is 3-23 and 0-11 as they come off a loss at Batesville. The Lady Bombers defeated the Lady Lions 39-27 on January 23rd.
The Mountain Home boys fell to Greenbrier two nights ago to drop to 11-14 overall and 6-5 in the district. Searcy is 9-17 and 5-6 after defeating Batesville. The Bombers suffered a 72-60 loss to the Lions less than a month ago.
The junior varsity games tip off at 5 p.m. The varsity contests begin around 6:00 and can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.

Two area girls’ teams return to East Poinsett County High School in Lepanto to compete in the semifinals of the 2A-2 Conference Tournament. Salem faces Sloan-Hendrix at 4:00 in a battle between Lady Greyhounds, and Cotter meets Marmaduke at 7:00.

Calico Rock will host the semifinals of the 1A-2 North Conference Tournament. The top-seeded Norfork girls tip off at 4:00 against Viola, Izard County’s boys take on Hillcrest at 5:30, and Mammoth Spring plays a doubleheader against the host Pirates starting with the girls at 7:00.

Valley Springs will be the site for the semifinals of the 3A-1 East Conference Tournament. In girls’ action, Mountain View and Bergman get underway at 4:00, and Melbourne will be paired with the host Lady Tigers at 7:00. On the boys’ bracket, Marshall faces Clinton at 5:30, and Yellville-Summit takes on Valley Springs at 8:30.

In other high school basketball, Bakersfield hosts Koshkonong for Senior Night, the Gainesville girls travel to Conway, and Dora’s girls make the trip to Sparta.
