Two housekeeping employees at a local motel have been arrested and charged with felony theft of property in connection with a missing Rolex watch valued at $5,000.

According to the probable cause affidavit, a customer reported the watch missing from his room to hotel management February 1st. The watch was not found when staff searched his room, leading him to file a police report on February 7th.

Monday the watch was located at a local pawn shop. Records indicate the watch had been sold by 35-year-old Bryan Keith Sutterfield of Mountain Home. Sutterfield had told an employee of the pawn shop he had obtained the watch as payment for a roofing job. Sutterfield and 39-year-old Kristy Sue Wood of Gassville, an employee of the hotel are engaged.

Tuesday Sutterfield and Wood came to the Mountain Home Police Department saying they had found the watch in the parking lot of the hotel. Sutterfield said he held it for a couple of days before selling it at the pawn shop for $1,800.

Wood maintained she had told a co-worker of the discovery of the watch in the parking lot. However, the co-worker advised while she had talked with Wood over the past few days, the watch had not been mentioned.

Sutterfield and Wood were arrested Tuesday. They told officers they have about $300 remaining from the sale of the watch.

The two are scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court later this month.
