LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) A 15-member panel has been formed to study the state’s occupational licensing requirements and identify any regulations that may be an unnecessary barrier for people who want to enter a new trade.
Gov. Asa Hutchinson on Friday appointed the Red Tape Reduction Working Group to examine occupations and trades that require a license. The panel is charged with identifying occupations the state could eliminate from licensing requirements without compromising consumer safety.
The panel includes five members each from the House and Senate and five appointees from the governor. The task force is expected to present its recommendations to Hutchinson this fall.
