Gardening in the Ozarks’ Vicki Garner to present at meeting Tuesday

KTLO, Classic Hits 101.7 and The Boot’s host for Gardening in the Ozarks, Vicki Garner, will present at Tuesday night’s meeting of the Baxter County Historical & Genealogical Society meeting. The meeting will be held at 6:00 at the Donald W. Reynolds Library in Mountain Home. Garner will discuss the topic “Gaining Ground-Native Plants and Heirloom Seeds.”Garner, a native Arkansan, moved to Mountain Home in July 1976 with her husband, Phil, and their children, Edie and Jason. In 1978, Vicki opened Plants Alive, a lawn and garden business. When she closed the shop, 10 years later, she worked as a counselor for the Department of Human Services and later as a social worker for the MH school district. She hosts the Gardening in the Ozarks show with Bob Knight on KTLO FM 97.9 from 10:00 to 11:00 on Saturdays.

The Baxter County Historical & Genealogical Society meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:00 at the library. The meetings are free and open to the public.

Also on the agenda for the meeting will be a request for donated items from the public for the May 11-12 yard sale, scheduled to be held at Buford Schoolhouse.
