Richard Terry Bearden, Jr., of Norfork pled guilty and was given four years probation in early February on drug-related charges and was re-arrested only 20 days later on new drug charges.

His latest arrest stemmed from a probation compliance visit on the earlier drug conviction. The 42-year-old Bearden entered a not guilty plea to his latest charges during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.

According to the probable cause affidavit, officers went to a residence located along Reds Landing Trail to conduct a compliance check on Bearden and a female living in the residence, Virginia Burch. Burch was also on probation following an earlier conviction. She faces new charges stemming from the compliance visit as well.

Officers reported finding multiple devices used for smoking methamphetamine, 14.8 grams of a substance that field-tested positive for methamphetamine and digital scales in a bedroom of the residence.

Bearden was ordered to reappear in circuit court April 26th.
