BC ballot position drawings set for Friday

Ballot position drawings for the May 22nd primary election will be held Friday morning at 9:00 in the second floor courtroom of the Baxter County Courthouse.

At the conclusion of the filing period March 1st, five primary races had developed in Baxter County, along with a school board position challenge. All of the races are on the republican ballot, with the exception of a Norfork School District position.

Incumbent County Judge Mickey Pendergrass is being challenged by Peter Kashpureff.

Two races developed on the quorum court. Incumbent JP for District 2 Lucille “Lucy” Soltysik is being challenged by Aaron Bristol. In District 7, incumbent JP Marilyn Williamson is being challenged by Charles Osgood.

Two constable races developed. In District 1, incumbent David Witherington is being challenged by Doug Stephens. In District 11, both Frankie Baker and Dempsy Thompson filed for the seat.

Three people are seeking the Position 5 seat on the Norfork School District board. Incumbent Mike Watts will face challengers Chad Maple and Shannon Moody.
