In addition to her personal aspirations, Shelley also has aspirations for her community. Shelley plans to place a “blessing box” outside of her parents’ local business, the Carpet Factory, located on North Cardinal Drive. A “blessing box” is a small food pantry where citizens can take food if they need it or leave nonperishable food items for others. Shelley plans to have the box placed within the week.

In addition to giving back to the local community, Shelley also promotes a state-wide community platform known as “Fed Up With Hunger,” which works to bring awareness to the problem of hunger in Arkansas. During her time as Miss North Central Arkansas, Shelley visits various locations across the state promoting hunger awareness.

Shelley is a 2015 graduate of Mountain Home High School and daughter to Charles and Tammy Shelley. Samantha won her current title in February and will compete for the Miss Arkansas title in the June competition.
