Stephany Louise Elliott of Gassville changed her plea to guilty and was given four years probation on drug-related charges during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.

The 51-year-old Elliott as arrested in late August last year after she made the major mistake of offering to share her methamphetamine with a Mountain Home police plainclothes officer if he would agree to help her get her vehicle started.

In the probable cause affidavit, the officer reported he first came into contact with Elliot as he was traveling on Old Arkana Road near the residence occupied by a person with outstanding arrest warrants.

As he neared the house, the officer reported seeing a vehicle parked sideways in the drive just inside the gate.

The officer also saw an unidentified female walking from the residence with a car battery. He had knowledge of the people living at the address and knew the female — later identified as Elliott — did not reside there.

The officer pulled into the driveway and it was then Elliott said she was in need of assistance getting her vehicle started. The officer said he believed Elliot was under the influence of a chemical substance.

Elliott then began waking around the yard calling for a dog named Annabell.

Elliott finally inquired if the man was a cop. The officer replied he was, although he was working out of uniform. He asked Elliott if she had drugs or anything else illegal on her person. She pulled out a plastic bag containing what appeared to be a small quantity of methamphetamine. She also had a plastic bag containing 59 yellow pills identified as “Xanax bars” in the vehicle.

The missing dog Annabell was found in Elliott’s vehicle.

Elliott admitted she was a daily methamphetamine user and that she had purchased approximately one-half gram of the drug the previous day.
