The Baxter County Fairgrounds is the site for a crawfish boil benefit Sunday afternoon from 1:00 until 5:00. In addition to crawfish, the benefit will also be serving soup and chili, and a silent auction will take place. All proceeds from the event go to benefit Twin Lakes native Oty Scalise and his family, as Scalise undergoes treatment of pancreatic cancer.

Scalise is a native of the area, and he and his wife, Melissa, have two children, Cianna and Jason. Scalise was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer and will be traveling to Tulsa, Oklahoma to receive chemotherapy. The crawfish boil is an effort to help Scalise and his family during this time.

The silence auction will include a turkey call, jewelry collection, Vera Bradley collection, Ranger Boats coat and blanket, and a variety of other items.

Plates cost $20 in advance or $25 at the door.
