One of the most successful high school basketball coaches in the area is leaving for a job in northwest Arkansas. Kimberly Jenkins is leaving Valley Springs to become the new head coach at Springdale Har-Ber. Jenkins led the Lady Tigers to an incredible seven state championship games, winning state titles twice. She amassed 487 wins in 18 seasons, averaging  27 wins per season.

Jenkins says leaving Valley Springs after such a long time is bittersweet.

Jenkins takes over for Jaime Green who has been hired at Adams State.

The hiring of Jenkins is also good news for the Har-Ber boy’s basketball team. Jenkins’ son Lawson just finished his sophomore year at Valley Springs where he averaged 25 points a game and is being recruited by Division 1 schools.
