The Class 1A Region 2 Tournaments came to an end Monday at Izard County High School in Brockwell.
Viola’s baseball team fell short of the regional title. The Longhorns began the day by edging out Hillcrest 2-1 in the semifinals, but they later lost to Armorel 11-1 in the championship game.
The softball title was captured by Calico Rock. The Lady Pirates won the first semifinal by a score of 13-1 over Hillcrest followed by Viola falling to Rector 5-4. The Lady Longhorns took third place in the next game with a 12-3 victory over Hillcrest. The last game decided the championship as Calico Rock beat Rector 3-1.
