Bakersfield, Dora among teams to win in district play Monday

District play continued for high school baseball in Missouri on Monday as some local teams played their first postseason games.

The semifinals of the Class 1, District 5 Tournament were held at Dora.
Bakersfield advanced to the title game after routing Bradleyville 13-3. The Lions improve to 6-12 on the season.
Bakersfield’s next opponent will be Dora. The host and top-seeded Falcons pounded Koshkonong 16-2. Dora is now 18-6 on the year.

Gainesville watched its season come to an end in the Class 2, District 10 Tournament at Seymour. The Bulldogs fell to the host Tigers 7-0. Gainesville’s final record is 9-14.

Hollister was eliminated from the Class 4, District 11 Tournament on their home field. The Tigers lost to Springfield Catholic 8-1. Hollister ends the year at 20-7.

Forsyth was also at home for its first game in the Class 3, District 11 Tournament. The Panthers needed an extra inning, but they were able to get past Conway 7-6. Forsyth advances to the semifinals with a mark of 10-12.

Ava will get to play for the championship of the Class 3, District 10 Tournament. The top-seeded Bears defeated Cabool 5-1 in Monday’s semifinals at Houston. Ava improves to 16-5 on the season.
