A Norfork man, 71-year-old Wesley Dickerson, has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a family or household member, two counts of domestic battery and endangering the welfare of a minor.

According to a Baxter County Sheriff’s Office incident report, four officers responded to a domestic incident on Sheid Road Tuesday evening where they found four individuals in the front yard of the residence taking cover. The four yelled at officers to take cover as well because someone in the residence, later identified as Dickerson, had a rifle.

Dickerson’s wife advised there had been a physical altercation between her husband and another man, Daniel Dickerson, with children present. Family members had arrived at the residence and had removed the children before officers responded.

The four individuals told law enforcement Wesley Dickerson had pointed weapons at them multiple times and advised many more weapons were inside the residence with him.

As deputies were establishing a perimeter around the residence, Dickerson emerged from the home staggering, carrying bags and weapons. His speech was reportedly slurred. While he acknowledged he had been in an altercation, officers had trouble understanding anything further.

Dickerson was carrying three loaded pistols, along with ammunition, and a knife.

Wesley Dickerson and Daniel Dickerson were transported by ambulance to Baxter Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained during the incident.

Wesley Dickerson was then transported to the Baxter County Detention Center. His bond was set at $15,000.
