Man enters no contest plea to drug charges

Jimmy Tunnicliff of Briarcliff entered a no contest plea to drug-related charges during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Monday and was given 10 years probation.

The 53-year-old Tunnicliff was charged with participating with his wife, Patricia, in the sale of methamphetamine and with possessing paraphernalia used in the distribution and consumption of the drug. The sales were made to a confidential informant working with law enforcement.

A search warrant was served on the couple’s home in Briarcliff March 21st, 2017. Officers found a quantity of a crystalline substance, plastic bags, scales and other items of paraphernalia.

The court approved the forfeiture of $355 in cash and a 2000 Mazda automobile from the Tunnicliff couple.

The 65-year-old Patricia Tunnicliff entered a guilty plea to the charges against her in March and was also given 10 years probation and ordered to spend 12 months in one of the Community Correction Centers in the state.
