The singer was set to kick off his new Las Vegas residency — Manilow Las Vegas: The Hits Come Home — tonight at the Westgate, but instead, he’s been hospitalized with a bronchial infection, according to a statement posted on his Twitter page.

In the statement, he said, “I can’t believe this is happening. Our new show is ready, we’re all ready, and we were all looking forward to tonight.”  He’s expected to be released in a few days.

A statement from the CEO of Westgate adds, “The entire Westgate family wishes Barry a speedy recovery and we know that he will dazzle audiences when his show resumes on June 21st.”

Fans who had tickets for tonight’s show and this weekend can get full refunds, or they can hold onto them and exchange them for new dates once they’re announced.
