FCA/Jeremy JacksonAlice Cooper stars in a pair of new TV commercials for the Dodge Durango which also serve to promote Apple’s CarPlay technology.

Both ads show a male assistant tasked to track down various items for an unknown employer. He hops into a Dodge Durango and blasts the Cooper tune “Under My Wheels” from the vehicle’s speakers.  He then utilizes the auto’s Siri system to find a local beauty supply store, grocery store, florist, party store and pet store. At each site, he purchases a variety of black-colored items, including nail polish, licorice, roses and balloons.

The assistant’s purchases at the pet store differ slightly between the two ads, with the first showing him leaving the store with a goat and a box covered with a black sheet, and the second showing him with just the goat.

In the final scene of the first commercial, the assistant is shown in a dressing room surrounded by the various black items and holding a stack of pizzas. Alice proceeds to burst into the room, looks around and declares, “Nice!” before quickly asking, “Where’s the boas?”

The assistant then hands the pizzas to the shock rocker, goes out to the Durango and tries to figure how to get the giant snake out of his trunk.

In the second ad‘s final scene, the assistant is working on arranging the black items in Alice’s dressing room as Cooper bursts in with his trademark boa constrictor around his neck. The rocker looks around and declares, “Wow! What’s with all the black?”

Cooper is one of 10 different music acts that the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles company has partnered with to promote its vehicles — Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler, Ram and Fiat — as part of its summer campaign. Among the other artists are OneRepublic and Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am.
