An Izard County man, 25-year-old Matthew Sollock of Mt. Pleasant, faces a total number of charges equal to his age following his arrest for a series of theft incidents in Horseshoe Bend, Oxford and Violet Hill encompassing 13 incident reports.According to the probable cause affidavit filed Monday, Sollock has been charged with 15 felony counts of breaking or entering and two counts of theft of property involving a vehicle and a firearm, along with eight misdemeanors counts, for a total of 25 offenses.

Izard County Sheriff’s deputies began responding to multiple reports of breaking or entering on June 29th in Horseshoe Bend beginning with a home invasion. They found the homeowner armed with a handgun searching the perimeter of the residence.

A second man at the scene told officers he was in the house using the restroom when he heard a door open. He said he saw a man standing in an open doorway wearing a black hat and mask. When he spoke to his girlfriend, the intruder fled.

Other reports in the Horseshoe Bend area included a vehicle break-in and the theft of a firearm, entry to a home and theft of a vehicle Sollock allegedly tried to sell later at a dealership in Highland. When asked for the vehicle identification number to complete the sale, Sollock reportedly returned to the stolen car, made a few laps in the parking lot and drove away toward Hardy. The stolen vehicle was located later the same day in Hoxie, where Sollock was taken into custody by Arkansas State Police without incident.

Throughout the same day, deputies responded to multiple calls involving break-ins to vehicles. The seven-page affidavit indicates nine vehicles were entered the previous evening.

Sollock is being held in the Izard County Detention Center in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
