AR County Treasurer’s Association holds summer meeting

The Arkansas County Treasurer’s Association held its summer continuing education meeting, and Baxter County’s treasurer was in attendance. Jenay Mize was among approximately 70 treasurers and deputy treasurers to attend. Mize has earned a total of 18 continuing education credit hours.

The meeting took place June 20th through June 22nd in Fort Smith. Members of the Cantoning Education and Executive boards met the first day, with the meeting of the full association convening the following day. Several speakers presented, and treasurers and deputies also engaged in roundtable discussions of various topics of interest to the county treasurer’s office. AAC Consultant Eddie Jones and Washington County Treasurer Bobby Hill answered treasurers’ questions after the roundtable discussions.

The final day of the meeting including a presentation from Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Steve Scott on courthouse security, as well as the election of new association officers. Mize retained her position as a member of the Continuing Education Board.
