Mountain Home’s Cal Ripken teams were able to finish pool play Friday with victories in their respective regional tournaments.
The local 12-year-olds clinched the number two seed from the American pool in the Southwest Regional Tournament at Florence, Alabama. Mountain Home edged out Levelland, Texas, by a final of 4-3. It will be a matchup of Arkansas teams to begin bracket play on Saturday as Mountain Home meets Union County at 10 a.m.
Mountain Home’s 11-year-olds will start bracket play as the number five seed in the Southwest Regional Tournament at Petal, Mississippi. The Fury beat up on George County, Mississippi, 11-3 Friday afternoon. Mountain Home will face Long Beach, Mississippi, Saturday morning at 9:00.
