Arkansas unemployment rate unchanged in June at 3.8 percent

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) _ The Arkansas unemployment rate held steady in June at
3.8 percent.

The Arkansas Department of Workforce Services said Friday the jobless rate
was unchanged from May despite 951 fewer people being employed.

The department said the decline in jobs was offset by a drop of 1,348 in the
civilian labor force.

The department said there were 5,400 fewer government jobs in June due to the
start of the summer break at public schools and universities.

The construction industry added 1,900 jobs while the business and professional
services sector added 1,200 employees.
