The early Saturday morning storm activity has forced the temporary closure of the Buffalo Point Campground, Cabins and Restaurant. The weather conditions resulted in storm damage, minor injuries and a lack of electricity, sewer and phones.

According to Caven Clark of the National Park Service, the storm rolled in around 1:30 a.m. Saturday. Several large trees fell down and blocked roads, brought down power lines, damaged park facilities, vehicles and RVs at Buffalo Point. All other areas of the park remain accessible and open to the public.

Buffalo Point Campground is expected to reopen Tuesday morning.
