Arkansas’ panic alert system, recognized last week in St. Louis with a top government solutions award as part of the 2015 School Safety Act, is being implemented in all of the state’s 75 county operations.

David Stults, Baxter County Safety Coordinator, says the RAVE panic button app was recently tested in a couple of county offices. Stults says the system is being utilized county-wide in all facilities in an effort to reduce response time in case of emergencies.

Stults says while the product has been available for a couple of years, the push to utilize it county-wide in Baxter County and across the state is a recent move.

He says he and Rob Hogard with the county’s maintenance department have visited with each county employee individually to encourage use of the early alert system app.

Stults says with encouragement to use the app comes training.

Stults says county employees in the courthouse, the collector’s and assessor’s offices across the street, 911, maintenance and road and bridge are utilizing the RAVE panic alert system.
