Amelia Pittaway of Mountain Home, who has amassed a large number of drug-related charges in five active cases filed against her, pled guilty to those charges in Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday and was given six years in prison.

During one of the arrests, the 33-year-old Pittaway was able to escape for a short time by using the excuse of having to go to the restroom.

When officers ordered her out of the restroom, she stopped answering officers’ questions or to come out of the room. When officers made forced entry, it was discovered Pittaway had escaped through a hole in the wall.

After a short pursuit, she was found and recaptured hiding in the laundry room of the residence.

Many of Pittaway’s arrests came as the result of traffic-related stops or investigations. In early August last year, police received a call from a local business employee reporting a car had been parked on his lot for a lengthy period of time, and it was making store employees uneasy.

When police arrived, they found Pittaway and a male companion in the vehicle. A prescription drug was found concealed in Pittaway’s boot and she was arrested.
