FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) _ Authorities in northwest Arkansas are searching for a
man who is accused of attacking the mother of his infant child then fleeing with
the baby.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says the 2-month-old infant was later
dropped off unharmed at her grandmother’s house, but the suspect, 38-year-old
Danny Trent Barrows, is missing.

Authorities say Barrows stabbed the baby’s mother in the leg and struck her
with his fists before leaving with the baby on Monday night. The disappearance
of the baby prompted an Amber Alert but it was canceled Tuesday morning after
the child was found safe.

The sheriff’s office says the baby has since been reunited with her mother.
