Charges continue to mount for a Mountain Home man, 29-year-old Robert Beyer, being held without bond and now alleged to have placed a plastic bag over a woman’s head while forcing her face into a motel room pillow.

According to the affidavit filed Monday, Bull Shoals Police Chief James Kuchenbecker was dispatched a week earlier to a resort on Central Boulevard for a report of a delayed domestic report. The owner alleged Beyer left without paying his motel bill. The owner said Beyer told him he was going to pay, but he covertly returned to the resort and removed all of his property.

Chief Kuchenbecker then spoke with a female who stated she and Beyer were working on a roofing job the previous Saturday on Old Dump Road in Flippin. She alleges Beyer became angry because she “wasn’t working fast enough” and threw a chalk line tool striking her in the left forearm and causing a bruise and a small, superficial cut to her skin. They continued to work on the roof and returned to the resort at the end of the day.

The female stated the situation between her and Beyer continued to deteriorate, and she attempted to leave the room because his mood and demeanor allegedly became more volatile. She says Beyer grabbed her arm when she tried to leave, took her cell phone, threw it on the ground and smashed it. The victim alleges Beyer repeatedly struck her in the arm and upper body with his fist. He then reportedly kicked her and bit her on the inner side of her left forearm.

The victim stated she tried to defend herself, but Beyer was overpowering her. She alleges he took a plastic bag and attempted to choke her with it. He then reportedly placed the bag over her face and forced it into a pillow in an effort to smother her. The victim alleges Beyer stated, “I’ve already gone too far. I might as well kill you.” She claims she eventually broke free, and Beyer stopped his aggression.

Beyer faces felony counts of domestic battery, terroristic threatening, aggravated assault on a family or household member, and false imprisonment, as well as misdemeanor counts of theft of services and criminal mischief.

The latest incident led to Beyer’s bond being revoked for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of his probation stemming from an incident late last year. At the time he was being held on two felony drug offenses in the Marion County Detention Center. During his incarceration, a jailer intercepted the cards Beyer was attempting to hand to another inmate.

Upon inspection, a razor barb was discovered within the cards. The razor barb had been taken from atop the outside security fence utilized for inmate yard time.
