Hootin An Hollarin kicks-off 58th year Thursday

Ozark County’s 58th Annual Hootin an Hollarin Festival will take place Thursday through Saturday, kicking off with a festival welcome from Gainesville Mayor Gail Reich Thursday evening at 5:55. The event will take place on the Ozark County Courthouse lawn in Gainesville.

The Hootin an Hollarin Queen pageant is Thursday night at 7:30. Bluegrass, country and gospel music will be featured on Friday and Saturday, along with square dancing at 9:00 each evening. There will be contests of all kinds during the festival, including bed races, outhouse races, calling contests, a quilt show, pet show, pie contest and many more.

Hootin an Hollarin visitors can shop at a multitude of craft vendors around the square. Guests can also watch demonstrations of old-time crafts and enjoy all kinds of food and drink, including lemonade, kettle corn, ice cream, burgers, hotdogs, beans and cornbread, funnel cakes, BBQ and more.

Admission to the festival is free.
