A Searcy County man, 29-year-old Jonathan Manning of Leslie, has been arrested following a domestic incident in which he is alleged to have choked a woman, hit her in the head, pulled her by the hair to the floor and pulled out a shotgun.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed Monday, the incident was reported about 1:00 Saturday morning when a woman came to the Searcy County Sheriff’s Office. She told officers the incident occurred the prior evening and continued until Saturday morning.

She described a disturbance that began verbally and escalated to a physical altercation. At one point, the woman said she tried to leave the scene, and Manning reportedly choked her from behind with her in the driver’s seat of a vehicle.

She said she fought back and at one point struck Manning with a flashlight, with no impact on the altercation.

The affidavit does not indicate how the woman managed to leave the scene.

Manning’s bond was set at $3,000.
